In the last time I’m helping the kernel team with the bump of vanilla-sources.
It does not take much time because I’m doing it with a script. So, personally, I will continue to bump the following series:
- 2.6.32
- 3.0
- 3.2
- 3.4
- 3.6
I will remove the EOL series as soon as possible.
If you have requests, please let me know.
Nice work. I am using the vanilla-sources and updates are fast. Thanks for your contribution to gentoo
Best regards
Do you consider to stabilize longterm kernels independently from gentoo-sources?
No, I will bump but not stabilize. Feel free to use package.keywords + package.mask if you need a particular series.
Not stressing or anything, but what happened with the script. 3.9.5 is not in gentoo vanilla tree yet, has been in gentoo-sources for days?
best regards
There was a misunderstanding, I’m bumping with a script, but I have no script that checks if there are new versions available. From time to time I’m checking the upstream website…yes I could use a script to check if there are new versions, or use directly euscan…but I guess there is no hurry.
In the future if you need immediately a version bump, feel free to open a bug on our bugzilla.
