Well this, I believe, is where you are wrong! Jabber is being adopted more and more, GTalk has used it for a while, so if you have a GMail account, you automagically get a Jabber account! And, what’s more, you can get a Jabber client on your GMail homepage! (This is what my mum uses – I don’t know whether she would be able to handle a full blown Jabber client, but GMail’s webclient is perfect for her needs).

I also think that the general movement from Windows to OSX by the general population could fuel Jabber, especially as one of the more popular clients, Adium, as it is based on libpurple, supports multiple protocols, including Jabber. This means that OSX users who opt to use Adium can use it for their GMail accounts (Okay, I might be making a bit of a stereotype here, by assuming that all OSX users use GMail, but it’s generally true), as well as their MSN/AIM/ICQ/Whatever accounts in one client!

Oh, and in case you’re wondering, my JabberID is welpie@jabber.org – just in case you wish to help me on my way to 200! 😉

So last night, I added my 100th contact on Jabber! :>> This makes me happy!
