{"id":121,"date":"2005-06-17T12:20:36","date_gmt":"2005-06-17T12:20:36","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2005-06-17T12:20:36","modified_gmt":"2005-06-17T12:20:36","slug":"simon_of_space","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.gentoo.org\/seemant\/2005\/06\/17\/simon_of_space\/","title":{"rendered":"Simon of Space"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Now, back when I was in <a href=\"http:\/\/lusaka.ecis.org\/\">school<\/a>, I&#8217;d read a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/tg\/detail\/-\/0380730448\/ref=pd_sim_b_3\/102-7508444-6872956?%5Fencoding=UTF8&amp;v=glance\">a couple<\/a> of Sue Townsend&#8217;s books. The unique thing was that those books are written like diaries or journal entries.  While I don&#8217;t think that there&#8217;s anything inherently wrong with the first person perspective in a novel, it has to be done right, which is exactly <b>not<\/b> the way that at least <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mysterynet.com\/jkellerman\/main\/\">one author<\/a> I&#8217;ve read does it.<\/p>\n<p>But, <a href=\"http:\/\/mfdh.ca\/\">Cheeseburger Brown<\/a> certainly <a href=\"http:\/\/mfdh.ca\/starwars\/darth-vader\/\">does it right<\/a>. Not only in his fiction, but also in his <a href=\"http:\/\/mfdh.blogspot.com\/\">own journal entries<\/a>, which come off like a story and suck you in (how voyeuristic of me), but also, and mainly in his new jourvel (how else would you combine <em>novel<\/em> and <em>journal<\/em>?  oh, I guess you can call it blognovel, like CBB does), <a href=\"http:\/\/simonofspace.blogspot.com\/\">Simon of Space<\/a>.
