To the terminal-switching problem, you can try add vga=791 or something to your kernel params. If i guess it well, the two resolution must be same (X and FB).</description>

			<description>1.) xf86-video-* is all for 2D stuff (and Xv) and -ati and -radeonhd share the same acceleration code (Alex Deucher ported it from -ati to -radeonhd)&lt;br /&gt;
2.) mesa is at the current point measurable slower than fglrx (phoronix did some tests). developers are currently working on features not on performance. Don't expect anything there soon.&lt;br /&gt;
3.) Neither KMS nor GEM for radeon willbe merged in 2.6.29. Currently these are Intel only. See http://planet.freedesktop.org/ or http://airlied.livejournal.com/&lt;br /&gt;
