I had to search once for a system for old machines. My home firewall and my old laptop too.
Arch proved to be the best solution in all cases.
I'll be looking forward for your opinion on it.
Apart from gentoo it's the only distro I still use nowadays.

I installed Deli Linux on a 486 laptop last August for kicks. I've found it works with systems that are way too old for anything else. My laptop had a *really* old graphics chip (it was a neomagic IIRC) and the lead (only?) dev recompiled an ancient X server for me. I can't bring myself to criticise such helpful people :-)

Really enjoying this series, keep it up.
