it’s been a few months since my last album. here’s the new one. four tracks, recorded one per day. these are the final pieces of my year-long creative one-a-day, which began in july 2011 and ended in july 2012.
this album was recorded and produced entirely with gentoo linux, using JACK timemachine and audacity, which are available in portage.
released 7/22/2012. free download. solo acoustic piano improvisations. four tracks plus wallpaper-sized album art. thanks for listening.
damn flash player keeps crashing … otherwise i love to listen what is possible in gentoo on the sound side of life
the album is free to download, which doesn’t require flash. that seems to be a limitation of firefox’s html5 audio, which uses ogg instead of mp3 streams, so on browsers that support the right audio format, it should show up as an html5 embedded player. thanks for listening!
Hi, if the sounds from this are synthesized on your PC could I get whatever you’re using to generate them? I really like how they sound compared to anything I was able to find so far, I’ve tried a lot of soundfonts and VSTs but was never really satisfied of any.
these sounds aren’t synthesized…as mentioned in the post, they’re from my piano, which i recorded with JACK timemachine. if you’re looking for a decent piano plugin, take a look at Pianoteq. i haven’t tried its acoustic pianos, but i like its electrics; the Rhodes sounds particularly lovely.
Thanks, I’ll have a look at it as soon as I’m back.
Great! Thx
