64-bit Java, 2007.0, and bad stuff
Attention users! If you run Gentoo/AMD64 and you use Java browser plugins, please go visit this thread and leave your vote on whether or not the Gentoo Java team should remove the nsplugin USE flag from blackdown-jde/jre, for the reasons outlined in that thread. Basically, this is where you need to provide input on whether or not you want a 64-bit browser plugin available.
Almost forgot: thanks to our lovely forum mods for stickying that thread and adding a poll.
Next item: 2007.0! The handbooks are basically done. I've been workin' my tail off for the last month or so, and as far as I can tell, they're ready to go. The only things that will need changing are a few non-handbook docs in /doc/en/, so those have to wait just a little bit longer. "When's the release?" you ask. Answer: "When it's released!", of course.
Final item: bad stuff! There's bad stuff goin' down on the -dev and -core lists. The first is available for general reading, the second is not. But it's going to change, one way or another.
Aaaaandbacktowork.

Thank you for bringing this issue to the fore as I had been meaning to dig around more and see what I could figure out.
