The core is just marked as offline for the scheduler, which means it won't be allocated any thread. But the CPU is not "physically" shutdown. On a dual quad-core setup, offlining 6 of the 8 cores reduces consumption by 5-6 W in idle...

Heh, but it actually lets me see that someone I know is using an old ordb.org blacklist, and that's why my email isn't going thru to them.

You're lucky you were able to flash it with a floppy. Sometimes it's Windows or nothing these days. Such was the case on my Sony Vaio.

Any luck in getting info on the PepLink? I am having issues with getting through it (FTP and other ports), but I am not sure if it is the PepLink box, my computer settings inside, or a firewall from where I have been testing it from the outside. (Probably just user error I am betting...)
